The Pull of Curiosity
Though Ella’s answer was simple, it echoed in my thoughts like a constant hum, each repetition urging me to dig deeper. Curiosity, like a gentle force, pulled at me, and I couldn’t shake it. After Jack had left, I made up my mind: it was time to follow him, to find out why my daughter’s muffins held such significance for him. There had to be more to this than just a routine.

Keeping My Distance
I kept a careful distance as the garbage truck made its usual rounds. My gaze remained fixed on Jack as he carefully tucked Ella’s muffin into his coat pocket. My heart raced, a mixture of nervousness and curiosity tightening in my chest. I didn’t want him to notice me, so I remained hidden in the shadows, doing my best to stay unnoticed as I followed him. Each stop of the truck took me closer to unraveling a mystery that had been growing in my mind. I had to know the truth.
