Inside the van, Julian was blindfolded and zip-tied. The drive was long and silent, save for the panicked whimpering of his friends. The arrogance that had defined Julian’s life was replaced by a cold, hollow dread. They eventually arrived at a location that smelled of stagnant water and industrial oil.

He was thrown into a room and left in total isolation. No demands were made; no physical harm came to him. The silence was the torture. His mind played back every person he had ever humiliated, every life he had treated as a footstool.
Eventually, heavy boots approached. A single light flickered on, revealing a silhouette.
“You think the world is a stage and we are all just extras in your movie, Julian,” a gravelly voice said. “You think dignity is something you can buy or break for views.”
The figure revealed a high-end camera pointed directly at Julian’s face. “You have one chance. No scripts, no lighting teams, no filters. You will apologize to every soul you have degraded. If the apology isn’t sincere… you stay in the dark.”
