Ronnie was deeply involved in their local church, setting up chairs with meticulous care and collecting donations for the homeless. Once, he came home without his shoes. When Diane asked where they were, he simply said a homeless man had needed them more.

He was also there for the family during their hardest moments. When Diane suffered from chronic fatigue syndrome, Ronnie stepped up, helping with the housework and caring for their children, Katie and Lloyd.
“Our children never knew life without Ronnie,” Rob says. “He was there before they were born, and he was still there when they grew up and had children of their own.”
