The Pirate Assault: A Fight for Survival
Two shapes materialized on the wavering horizon—long, low boats slicing through the water at alarming speed. Elias leaned forward, narrowing his eyes. “That’s not the rescue team,” he said quietly, dread creeping into his voice. As the vessels drew closer, he saw the truth in their silhouettes—no markings, no flags, just armed men clustered at the bow.
His stomach dropped.

“Ravi…” he said, barely above a whisper. “We’re not alone out here.”
The speedboats fanned out, circling the crippled seaplane like predators testing an injured animal. Engines revved aggressively, kicking up walls of spray. Shouts echoed across the water—sharp, commanding, and in a dialect Elias didn’t recognize. Ravi climbed back into the cockpit, breathless. One look outside was enough. “Pirates,” he muttered. “Of all the days…”
The seaplane rocked harder now, pushed not just by the waves but by the deliberate wake patterns created by the circling boats. Elias grabbed the armrest, knuckles whitening as the aircraft listed dangerously to one side.
“We have no weapons, no escape route, and three hours until rescue,” Elias said. “We’re sitting ducks.” Ravi’s jaw tightened. “Then we don’t give them a reason to be aggressive.”
Elias turned to him sharply. “Meaning?”
Ravi inhaled slowly, formulating a plan in the midst of chaos. “We let them think the plane is too damaged to be worth their time,” he said. “If they believe we’re helpless… unarmed… and carrying nothing valuable, they might just leave us alone long enough for rescue to show up.”
Elias hesitated. The idea was risky. Desperate. But it was all they had. “Okay,” he said finally. “Then let’s sell the act.”
The boats drew closer—this was their only chance.
